How to Get Here
We are situated in Southwest France and can be reached easily by plane + short transfer, train or car.
To keep your travel simple (and jetlag-friendly), we recommend choosing one of the arrival options below and building your route around it.

By Plane
Easiest arrival airports
For scheduled workshops we organise pickups up from San Sebastián Airport (EAS) or Biarritz Airport (BIQ) between 4–5pm on the day before the workshop starts.
- Biarritz Airport (BIQ): The closest international airport, approximately 55 minutes away by car.
- Lourdes Airport (LDE): Approximately 1 hour by car.
- San Sebastian Airport (EAS): Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes by car.
Travel tip: Arrive a day or two earlier and explore a beautiful city while recovering from jetlag.
Best gateway airports for easy connections
If you don’t see a direct flight to your arrival airport, you’ll connect through a larger hub first. These gateways typically offer the smoothest onward routes:
- London (LHR / LGW) → connects well to Biarritz, Bilbao, Toulouse, Bordeaux
- Paris (CDG) → connects well to Biarritz, Bilbao, Toulouse, Bordeaux
- Dublin (DUB) → connects well to Biarritz, Lourdes, Bilbao, Toulouse, Bordeaux
- Lisbon (LIS) → connects well to Bilbao, Toulouse, Bordeaux
- Madrid (MAD) → connects well to San Sebastián, Bilbao, Toulouse, Bordeaux
- Frankfurt (FRA) → connects well to Biarritz, Bilbao, Toulouse, Bordeaux
These hubs are also great places to add a stopover if you’d like to recover from jetlag.
Easiest mileage-friendly routes (for air miles & alliances)
If you’re booking with points or prefer alliance routing, these are often the most straightforward:
- Arrive via Biarritz (BIQ): Biarritz has connections to 23 European gateway airports, so it’s often the simplest “final hop” once you’re in Europe.
- Oneworld routing: often smooth via Madrid → San Sebastián, frequently operated by Iberia (ideal if you’re using Oneworld miles, including American Airlines partners).
- Star Alliance routing: commonly works well via Lisbon → Bilbao, with typical Star Alliance carriers including United Airlines, TAP Air Portugal, Air Canada, Air New Zealand, or Air India.
(Travel tip: Bilbao is a city worth exploring, including the prestigious Guggenheim museum.)
Other nearby airports (best if you’re renting a car or taking a train)
These can be excellent options, especially if your flight deals or mileage routing look better. All of them are well connected to our area by train:
- Bilbao — approx. 2 h 15
- Bordeaux — approx. 2 h 30
- Toulouse — approx. 2 h 45
Plan it quickly (and confidently)
Use these tools to instantly check routes and connections:
- FlightConnections — shows all direct routes and which cities you can connect through
- Skyscanner — compare prices and timings
- Rome2rio — buses + trains + duration estimates (and ticket links)
Arriving outside the pickup time?
If you’d like a custom pickup outside the group pickup window, you can contact our driver David on WhatsApp (English-speaking) for a quote: +33 6 35 02 62 30
You can also arrive by bus/train (Rome2rio is great for this) or rent a car.
By Car
Renting a Car
Renting a car can be a smart move if you’d like freedom to explore — rentals can be very affordable (sometimes around €20/day, depending on season). It’s also a convenient option if you’re arriving via Bilbao, Toulouse, or Bordeaux.
Arriving by Car
- From the A64 Motorway: Take Exit 7 (Salies-de-Béarn/Sauveterre-de-Béarn) and follow the signs to Sauveterre.
- Free parking is available everywhere in the village.
By Public Transport

The nearest train stations are Puyoô (10 mins away) and Orthez (20 mins away). Both are well-connected to major French cities. From the station, you can take a local taxi or the regional bus (Line 523) to Sauveterre-de-Béarn (Stop: Place Royale).
You can also take a bus from Bayonne to Saint-Palais and then line 523 from there to Sauveterre-de-Béarn.

Accessibility Statement
We strive to be as welcoming as possible to all visitors. However, due to the historic nature of our building, there are physical limitations you should be aware of.
Building Layout Our venue is a protected historical monument (the Castle/Guard House). The front entrance requires climbing several stairs and is relatively narrow. Currently, all bedrooms and main workshop spaces are located on the upper floors, accessible only via a staircase.
Mobility Restrictions Regrettably, we are currently unable to accommodate guests who cannot climb stairs or require wheelchair access for their stay.
Future Improvements We are actively working with the local government to find solutions that respect the building’s heritage while improving accessibility. Our goal is to eventually provide wheelchair access to the main room for public events and concerts. We appreciate your understanding as we navigate the complex planning restrictions associated with historical monuments.
If you have specific questions about your visit or need assistance planning your arrival, please do not hesitate to contact us.
