And in the beginning there was WAX!
This mixed media workshop will be centered around wax. It’s my go to medium for collage, assemblage and, of course, stand alone paintings. We will explore all of those as well as the addition of other media such as gelli prints and alcohol inks.
I like to teach workshops that emulate the way I work in my studio. There will be a couple of days devoted to creating parts to be incorporated later into finished works. I think of these days as pure play and experimentation which is totally appropriate for a workshop. We’ll get “serious” toward the end when we put it all together.
My favorite part of teaching is working one on one. I like to help students bring their pieces to life with design suggestions, editing and nuance.
